Bitcoin (BTC,) has printed losses across all the notable trading sessions, declining by 0.77% in the last 24 hours, 2.5% in the last seven days, 15.8% in the last 30 days, and 16.7% in the last 90 days to trade at $81.5k at press time. However, analysts are still optimistic as they observe bullish patterns in some reliable market metrics. Analyzing multiple theses by renowned traders, we found that the Bitcoin price is “still cheap”. In fact, analyst Samson Mow believes that the asset could hit $1 million in 2025, as featured in our recent coverage. Bitcoin’s possible rebound is confirmed by the Bitcoin Rainbow Chart, which is represented by a “logarithmic growth curve” with rainbow colours showing its long-term trend. Looking at the movement in the previous two cycles, we found that the curve touched the “Seriously sell!” zone. Meanwhile, this has not been the case this cycle. The curve is still hovering within the “Is this a bubble?” zone. Interestingly, the Relative Strength Index readings also suggest an imitation of the 2021 cycle. In 2017, for instance, Bitcoin’s weekly RSI reading stayed above 70 for multiple weeks as the asset made multiple highs within the period. However, the asset and the RSI recorded a bearish divergence in 2021 before falling by almost 50%. Later, the market recovered and entered another bearish phase. In the current market cycle, the RSI stayed above 70 for a total of six weeks before taking a nosedive to below the neutral zone of 50. Fascinatingly, this mirrors the 2021 correction where the asset declined by 50%. A similar decline could see Bitcoin falling to $54k. Further, comparing the cycles using the BTC.D, we found that this metric reached almost multi-month lows during the past two cycle tops. Currently, this is on an upsurge to a level not seen for the past four years. Fascinatingly, this aligns with a recent analysis of a CryptoQuant contributor, Ibrahim Cesar. In his latest thesis, he predicted that Bitcoin could rebound to hit $180k. According to him, the recent movement of Bitcoin mirrors the previous bull cycles. In summary, those investing in Bitcoin at these levels have the potential to gain over 100% in dollar terms without even waiting a year. Buying in the right regions and at the right times can present significant opportunities. Speaking on the current trend, Standard Chartered predicted more “bloodbath” as its analysts forecast Bitcoin to make a decisive move below $80k. As explained in our last analysis, multiple factors have been linked to this downward trend including the concerns on inflation, interest rates, and U.S. economic policy. Standard Chartered also believes that Bitcoin could stage a rebound to hit $500k by 2029. At the same time, Arbitrum’s token supply dynamics continue to play a crucial role in its market behavior. With a total supply of 10 billion ARB tokens and approximately 4.41 billion currently in circulation, the scheduled token unlocks impact ARB’s liquidity and price movement. On February 16, a major unlock event saw the release of 92.65 million ARB tokens, representing 2.10% of the circulating supply. Another unlock event is set to take place on Sunday, with an identical 92.65 million ARB tokens scheduled for release. Notably, these token unlocks take place on the 16th of every month until April 2027, steadily increasing the circulating supply. Despite Arbitrum’s expanding ecosystem and continued adoption, the ARB token has experienced a prolonged price decline. Over the past year, ARB has lost 83.8% of its value, with a 13.4% drop occurring in just the past week. Recently, it fell below the critical support level of $0.40, now trading at $0.3289, representing an 86.22% plunge from its all-time high of $2.39. However, despite the ongoing downtrend, its trading volume has seen a notable increase of 56.6%, reaching $301 million in the last 24 hours.

Riot Platforms’ research head Pierre Rochard has asserted that XRP is not a security despite many critics of the controversial Ripple-promoted coin claiming it is. Rochard, a longtime critic of Ripple, argues that XRP cannot be classified as a security because the San Francisco-based blockchain payments startup does not actually owe investors “utility or anything else.” “They are free to dump on you and you have no right to do anything about it other than join them in dumping XRP. That’s why XRP is not a security,” he opined. Responding to an X user, the mining exec noted that many “worthless” and “harmful” products do not qualify as securities. In July 2023, Judge Analisa Torres granted Ripple a partial victory after declaring in her summary judgement that secondary sales of the Ripple-linked token were not securities. Last Sunday, President Trump said he expects payments-focused XRP to be a part of the strategic digital assets reserve with other cryptocurrencies. Critics argue against XRP as a reserve asset by pointing out that it lacks the real-world presence and the decentralization of Bitcoin or Ethereum. Moreover, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group has not yet announced plans to list XRP futures, which is probably why skeptics are against the coin’s inclusion in the national reserve. Notably, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had approved ETFs investing in the CME-regulated BTC and ETH futures before greenlighting the spot BTC and ETH ETFs last year, trusting the exchange’s monitoring system to tackle potential price manipulation. In January, Rochard lambasted Ripple as the biggest obstacle to a Bitcoin-only strategic reserve since the company was aggressively lobbying against it. However, Ripple boss Brad Garlinghouse claimed that the company’s efforts were actually boosting the likelihood of a reserve that includes Bitcoin. The CEO has long advocated for a multi-asset US crypto reserve similar to the one announced by Trump on March 2. SEC Is Challenging XRP’s Classification Meanwhile, some believe including XRP in the reserve signals the imminent conclusion of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s ongoing enforcement lawsuit against Ripple. The SEC formally filed its appeal-related opening brief on January 15, challenging the court’s previous ruling on the programmatic XRP sales. Since pro-crypto Commissioner Mark Uyeda took over as acting Chair after former SEC Chair Gary Gensler’s exit, speculation has grown over a possible resolution of the Ripple case.
