1. Coin HOlding Method: Suitable for both bull and bear markets.
The coin holding method is both simple and highly challenging. Malaysia seeks U.S. tariff reduction as global trade war slows economic growth
Malaysia is pushing to reduce tariffs on its exports to the United States. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told parliament on Monday that the U.S. has agreed to continue discussions. He described the negotiations as still early but noted they show progress.
The United States proposed a 24% tariff on certain goods from Malaysia beginning in July. This would increase the price of Malaysian goods in U.S. markets and make them less competitive. Anwar said that although the discussions were still preliminary, U.S. authorities had agreed to continue talks with Malaysia and that the mutual tariff could be lowered.
He added that the overall economic impact is still containable for now because the majority of tariffs have been waived until July.
But if Malaysia fails to secure a deal before July, its exports could be dealt a significant blow. Anwar said the government is also willing to listen to U.S. concerns. Among the wrinkles are non-tariff barriers and Malaysia’s trade surplus with the United States.
Malaysia is also open to a new bilateral trade agreement with Washington.
The proposed U.S. tariffs are part of a broader protectionist strategy by President Donald Trump’s administration, which has also imposed similar measures on other trading partners, including China and Mexico. These tariffs have raised concerns among global economies, particularly in Southeast Asia, where countries like Malaysia rely heavily on exports.
Malaysia’s economy is getting scorched by the global trade war . The country had previously projected to grow by 4.5% to 5.5% this year. Now, the government has acknowledged it won’t get to that target.
Anwar informed lawmakers that global trade standoffs were making it difficult to meet earlier forecasts.
This sentiment was also echoed recently by the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Malaysia’s central bank. He also said that economic growth projection may have to be revised because of a deteriorating global economy.
The economy depends on exports, which are weighed down by weak growth in top trade partner China. Malaysia’s homegrown industries suffer when global demand drops or tariffs go up.
The manufacturing industry, in particular, is at risk. It accounts for a significant share of Malaysia’s exports to the United States and China.
The government intends to prop up local industries and seek out new markets to cushion the blow.
Economists have remained cautiously optimistic about Malaysia’s export outlook, pointing to the strong performance in some key sectors such as electrical and electronics (E&E) and palm oil. Berkshire Hathaway shares slipped after Buffett says he will step down as CEO, stocks surge pre-market
Shares of Berkshire Hathaway dipped over the weekend after Warren Buffett announced that he would retire as CEO by year-end, ending his six-decade reign over the $1.16 trillion conglomerate. The decision was delivered during the company’s annual meeting in Omaha, Nebraska, which caught investors off guard despite years of succession planning.
The 94-year-old CEO stated that he will officially hand over his position to Vice Chairman Greg Abel, whom economists had predicted would become his heir apparent.
In January, Buffett had told investors that his time at the conglomerate was coming to an end, although when he planned to step down had not been disclosed until now. Abel himself was reportedly unaware that the announcement would be made at the meeting.
The news sent Class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) down 2% in Monday’s premarket trading, falling to $528.91. According to Google Finance data, the shares’ price corrected positively to $539.83, less than an hour before markets opened.
Still, Berkshire’s Class B shares have a strong year-on-year performance, recording gains of approximately 33%, well above the S&P 500’s 12% gain over the same period.
At the Saturday meeting, Buffett did not give a concise elaboration on how the transition would take place, although he confirmed Abel will step up to the chair position. The vice chairman addressed shareholders, promising to be more active in overseeing Berkshire’s subsidiaries, while continuing to let each unit operate independently and “in a very positive way.”
Abel has overseen most of Berkshire’s non-insurance businesses since 2018, while the firm’s insurance operations, including Geico, General Re, and National Indemnity, will continue to report to Vice Chairman Ajit Jain.
KBW analyst Meyer Shields told investors in a client note that Abel is competent, but the surprise Warren Buffett exit news would likely weigh on the stock in the near term.
“Buffett’s departure will probably impact investors’ view of Berkshire more than it will actual operations,” Shields wrote.
According to market insiders, Buffett is supposedly irreplaceable for his investment acumen and his reputation as the Oracle of Omaha. The company holds stocks in several industries like railroads, insurance, energy, and even an ice-cream maker, which many have coined as a symbol of “stable, long-term value” since Buffett took charge in 1965.
Berkshire shareholders are worried about how the firm’s 189 operating units, $264 billion in stocks, and $348 billion in cash reserves would be managed without the $160 billion-worth CEO.
Pre-market data shows the US stock market could start the week on a stronger footing, but stock futures are down across major indices. Futures tied to the S&P 500 fell 0.8%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 278 points (0.7%), and Nasdaq-100 futures lost 0.9%.
The S&P 500 in Monday’s session looks set to open with a 1.5% gain, its tenth consecutive positive session and longest winning streak since November 2004. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average also posted gains of 1.5% and nearly 1.4% respectively last Friday.
The Federal Reserve is slated to begin a two-day policy meeting on Tuesday, and the interest rate decision comes the following day. According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, traders see only a 3.2% chance of a rate cut at this meeting.
The US dollar weakened for a second straight day, threatening to end the S&P 500’s winning streak. Brent crude futures plunged by as much as 4.6% following OPEC+’s decision to increase supply, while gold prices rose to $3,260 due to a weaker greenback.

Should You Be Worried?
While Bitcoin [BTC] has seen consistent price action over the past few months, its network has struggled.
Despite Bitcoin’s surge to $97K, its on-chain activity remains relatively low.
Some key network metrics, such as active addresses and transaction volume, surprisingly fail to reflect overall market enthusiasm.
In fact, active addresses have struggled to stay above 1,000, reaching that level only three times in the past few months.
At press time, active addresses hover around 958,740. This begs the question: why is this happening?
According to Alphractal’s analysis, there are six main reasons why Bitcoin’s on-chain activity has stagnated.

First, the current price is driven by external factors.
Therefore, the Bitcoin market and value are more influenced by the inflow of funds from spot ETFs and institutional investors, as well as the actual usage of the blockchain. This is evidenced by the continued accumulation of spot ETFs by MicroStrategy, Metaplanet, and BlackRock.
Second, BTC’s price volatility is unusually low.
After consolidating between $92,000 and $95,000 for several weeks, price action lacks the momentum needed to trigger wallet activity. Under these circumstances, many holders choose to wait and see.
As a result, investors have little incentive to act, resulting in fewer on-chain transactions.
Third, Bitcoin’s trading volume is artificial, and some of the volume may be exaggerated. Exaggerated volumes create a misleading sense of activity, while actual network usage remains low.
In addition, usage has shifted to other networks.
Other networks such as Ethereum [ETH], Solana [SOL], and Base are attracting active users of DeFi, staking, and memecoins. As a result, speculative usage is gradually shifting to other blockchains with higher traffic.
For example, the Solana chain has become dominant in memecoin, while Ethereum is dominated by staking. As usage shifts to other chains, Bitcoin is facing severe challenges.
That being said, Bitcoin’s appeal as a utility payment network has also waned.
As a result, the price is growing faster than the network activity is growing. Typically, this situation is unsustainable and the price may face a correction to meet real demand.
Finally, the adoption of second-layer networks like the Lightning Network is accelerating. As more transactions move off-chain, especially to the Lightning Network, mainnet activity appears to have decreased.
This puts cryptocurrencies in a challenging position as the demand and usage of second-layer networks are increasing. All in all, it is important to note that a high price for Bitcoin does not necessarily mean an increase in blockchain usage.
Therefore, we are witnessing a shift where BTC is viewed more as a financial asset while on-chain activity thrives in other areas.
What does this mean for BTC?
Ultimately, price alone does not tell the whole story. Bitcoin’s strong performance on the charts has not translated into increased network usage.
This shift suggests that BTC is increasingly being viewed as a macro-financial asset rather than a decentralized currency built for everyday use.
Historically, network growth, especially from retail investors, has played a crucial role in sustaining Bitcoin’s gains. But now, with institutional investors dominating flows and retail investors largely on the sidelines, that momentum may be harder to sustain.
Unless on-chain demand picks up, BTC’s price growth may face structural limits.
