An Iranian official is suspected of embezzling over $21 million in cryptocurrency assets during an investigation into a crypto exchange
A senior investigator from the Intelligence and Economic Crime division of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been accused of embezzling over $21 million in cryptocurrency assets during an investigation into the Cryptoland cryptocurrency exchange.
According to court documents reviewed by Iranian International Television, two senior officials from the IRGC's economic intelligence department, Mehdi Hajipour and Mehdi Badi, were the main planners of this scheme. Blockchain evidence shows that just the wallet controlled by Hajipour handled tokens worth more than $21 million.
