US Commerce Secretary: Even if tariff policy triggers recession, it's still worth it
According to a report by American media AXIOS, US Secretary of Commerce Lutnick said on Tuesday local time that President Trump's economic policy is the most important measure in American history. In an interview with CBS, when asked whether tariffs would still be valuable even if they led to an economic recession, even a short-term one, Lutnick responded affirmatively: "Yes, I think the tariff policy is worth it, even if it will trigger an economic recession. But the only reason why the U.S. economy could possibly fall into a recession is because of Biden administration's absurd policies." This contrasts with his statement last Sunday when he told NBC News that America would never experience an economic recession.
