Ahead of Germany's parliamentary elections, the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is proposing to completely deregulate Bitcoin and aims to make the country a leader in the startup industry.

According to party representatives, it is necessary to carry out a large-scale reform to deregulate cryptocurrencies and electronic technologies such as bitcoins, cryptocurrency wallets and digital asset trading.

In addition, the party is categorically against the introduction of a digital euro and insists that the constitution state that cash is legal tender.

Alternative for Germany sees the digital euro as a threat to financial freedom, privacy and a tool for spying on the finances of the country's citizens.

It should be noted that the position of the far-right party is not consistent with the support for the digital euro from parliamentary candidates from the Social Democratic Party, the CDU/CSU Alliance and the Green Party.

Experts believe that the party's election promises may remain just slogans, although they do not completely rule out their implementation.

Let us recall that former German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, during a roundtable discussion of blockchain opportunities in the German parliament, proposed key strategies for introducing Bitcoin into the state’s financial system.
