A Republican congressman is proposing a constitutional amendment to allow Trump to run for a third term
On January 24th, U.S. Representative Andy Ogles proposed a joint resolution in the House of Representatives suggesting an amendment to the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution, allowing a president to serve up to three terms. The new amendment stipulates that anyone can be elected president up to three times, but cannot be re-elected after two consecutive terms.
Ogles stated that Trump is the only leader in modern history who has been able to reverse national decline and needs ample time to achieve his goals. He emphasized that Trump had taken several actions within just a few days of taking office, including declaring a border emergency, terminating birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, and designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.
