Hackers have come up with a new fraudulent scheme for Google users

Blockchain security experts at Scam Sniffer have uncovered a new scam that uses Google Ads to trick cryptocurrency owners into visiting a fake Pudgy Penguins website.

Analysts explained that the malvertisement contains suspicious JavaScript code that checks whether the user has a crypto wallet. If it is detected, the code redirects future victims to a fake website that mimics the official website. NFT -Pudgy Penguins project.

Once users are on the fake site, the scammers gain access to their personal information or trick victims into connecting their wallets and stealing funds.

While hackers use a fake resource NFT -project Pudgy Penguins, but Scam Sniffer experts warn that the method can easily be adapted to work with other crypto projects. They advise checking the URL carefully before going to the site and using ad blockers.

The new scam is part of a new trend in which hackers are using well-known advertising platforms like Google Ads to steal cryptocurrency. Criminals have previously used the platform to distribute malicious ads for Revoke Cash and Whales Market.
