Zeus Network Validates First Bitcoin Transaction on Solana
On December 12th, Zeus Network made history by validating the first Bitcoin transactions on Solana using its technology.
This achievement is a big step in making Bitcoin work on Solana , a faster and cheaper blockchain.
By connecting two of the biggest cryptos, Zeus Network is opening up new possibilities for the future of digital finance.
How Did Zeus Make It Happen?
To make this work, Zeus Network used a combination of its core technologies, including the ZeusNode Operator, ZeusNode Guardian, and ZPL. These systems worked together seamlessly to bring Bitcoin onto Solana in five steps:
- 1) Solana BitcoinSPV Creates the Bitcoin Blockchain on Solana: This step involves creating a version of the Bitcoin blockchain on Solana. It’s like setting up a new home for Bitcoin on a different blockchain.
- 2) ZeusNode Operator Extends the Bitcoin Blockchain on Solana: The ZeusNode Operator helps extend Bitcoin’s blockchain onto Solana. At this point, the process involves two key actions:
- Step 2-1: Bitcoin is deposited into the Hot Reserve Bitcoin.
- Step 2-2: ZPL then verifies the Bitcoin deposit on the Solana blockchain to ensure everything is in order.

- 3) ZeusNode Guardian Locks Bitcoin: The ZeusNode Guardian locks the Bitcoin to secure it. Think of it like locking up a treasure chest in a safe place.
- 4) ZPL Verifies the “Bitcoin LockToColdReserve” Transactions: ZPL ensures the Bitcoin is safely locked in a “cold” storage, protecting it for future use.
- 5) ZeusNode and ZPL Peg the First ZPL-Asset on Solana: Finally, the ZeusNode and ZPL team up to peg the first ZPL-asset on Solana. This means that Bitcoin is now linked to the Solana blockchain and can be used in the Solana ecosystem.
Why Is This Important?
This achievement marks the first time Bitcoin liquidity has flowed onto Solana in a smooth and permissionless way, meaning anyone can use it without needing permission. This is a huge step for both Bitcoin and Solana, as it opens the door for more uses of Bitcoin, like fast and cheap transactions on Solana. More info in its blog post .

Zeus Network’s plans don’t stop here. By adding more assets that use the same technology and open-sourcing the ZPL in the future, they hope to invite more decentralized apps (dApps) to join the ecosystem. This will help grow the network and provide even more opportunities for users.
