Ripple's Chief Legal Officer and other industry figures support French Hill as the new chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee
The appointment of French Hill, a supporter of encryption and a member of the US House Financial Services Committee, as its new chairman has won support from leaders and legislators in the encryption industry. Former Acting Comptroller of the Currency and former Chief Legal Officer of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, Brian Brooks, praised Hill's "intelligence, growth mindset, and innovative prospects". Ripple's Chief Legal Officer, Stuart Alderoty, emphasized Hill's potential to promote transparency in the regulation of digital assets, stating that as chairman of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, Hill is ready to lead the push for regulatory transparency and continue the momentum of the previous Congress in market structure and stablecoin legislation. Others in the cryptocurrency and finance industry have expressed similar views, including the Blockchain Association and the Chamber of Digital Commerce, who have also expressed support for Hill's leadership.
