Cardano on track for full decentralization by 2025: Hoskinson details plans
Charles Hoskinson, the visionary behind the Cardano , has outlined a bold roadmap to take the platform towards full decentralization by 2025. At a recent historic event that brought together delegates from over 50 countries, the Cardano community took a pivotal step toward defining its future.
Cardano’s recent Constitutional Convention was a significant milestone, with global participation exceeding all expectations. After years of debate and collaboration, the community was able to reach consensus on a document that will serve as a guide for the network’s governance in the years to come.
Hoskinson expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting the importance of democratic participation and the inclusion of all stakeholders in this process. In his channel On YouTube, the ADA creator highlighted: “It was probably one of the proudest moments of my professional career.”
For Hoskinson, full decentralization implies a system where all important decisions are made by the community, through transparent and fair voting mechanisms. “For my part, I always believe that the key is to build member-based institutions and on-chain governance and make them work well together,” he highlighted.
“By 2025, we will have some challenges, and those challenges will be that we will have to fully decentralize the governance of Cardano,” Hoskinson said.
The Cardano founder highlighted that this journey will indeed begin in January with the full activation of Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 1694, which was designed to improve governance discussions in the ecosystem.
