'Eve Frontier' Studio Offering Early Access to Ethereum Survival Game
CCP Games has unveiled Founder Access packs, a set of early access perks that will allow users an opportunity to play and participate in the development of its upcoming space survival game, Eve Frontier.
The packs, available in three separate tiers ranging from $30 to $90, are currently on sale. On December 10, purchasers of the Founders Access benefits will be able to join an “always-on server” in Closed Alpha and begin leaving an imprint on the outer space game's malleable world.
All Founders Access levels will also include benefits like unique skins, a "Founder" role on the Discord server, monthly developer streams, and post-launch premium subscription play time in Eve Frontier. The game will eventually be free-to-play when opened broadly to the public.

“Our long-term vision is to create an open ecosystem built, operated and governed by the Frontier’s inhabitants themselves,” said CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, in a statement. “Founder Access is the start of a new and exciting phase in this development, giving players the chance to be a foundational part of our collaborative approach in a meaningful way.”
A space survival game in which “the world is out to get you,” as Pétursson previously told Decrypt, Eve Frontier will build on Ethereum-layer 2 network Redstone and feature multiple crypto tokens, including an EVE token that is described as the game’s “utility token.”
Known for the massive multiplayer online (MMO) game Eve Online, CCP Games announced in March 2023 that it had raised $40 million, in a round led by VC giant Andreesen Horowitz, to develop a game with blockchain technology.
Players participating in the Closed Alpha with Founders Access will be subject to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) when it launches on December 10, according to an FAQ on the Eve Frontier website.
