Avik Roy, Chairman of the Nonprofit Think Tank: Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Plan Cannot Solve the US Debt Crisis
at the 2024 North American Blockchain Summit held in Dallas, Texas, Avik Roy, the chairman of a non-profit think tank, said on stage: "When Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis talked about how a Bitcoin strategic reserve plan could help us eliminate federal debt, it was an over-hype of what Bitcoin can do. If the US were to purchase a "huge amount" of Bitcoin and make it appreciate, it could be helpful, but it would not solve the problem of the almost exponentially growing $35.46 trillion debt problem since the 1980s."
