Speculation arises over potential solution to Ethereum's scalability challenges
Speculation has arisen over a potential solution for Ethereum's scalability issues, following a social media post by Ethereum researcher Justin Drake. Drake hinted at an "ambitious" initiative for Ethereum, which some believe could involve a redesign of the consensus layer. The researcher is expected to reveal his proposal at Devcon in Bangkok on 12 November. Rumours about an ETH 3.0 upgrade have circulated, with some suggesting it could include a native zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) that would eliminate the need for layer-2 rollups. However, not all members of the community believe the speculation.
