A French trader used more than $30 million to bet on Trump on Polymark and made nearly $50 million in profit
as reported by The Wall Street Journal, a French trader named Théo used more than $30 million from four anonymous accounts to bet on Trump's victory on Polymarket. After Trump successfully ran for president again on November 6, Théo made nearly $50 million in profit. Théo believes that American public opinion polls are not accurate enough, and that pollsters should use a so-called "neighborhood opinion poll" to ask respondents which candidate their neighbors are expected to support, indirectly revealing their own preferences. Théo told The Wall Street Journal that he commissioned a large polling agency to conduct a survey to measure the "neighborhood effect," and the results were "shocking and favorable to Trump," which led him to boldly bet on Trump.
