Как reported The New York Times, Cryptocurrency Exchange Creak plans to cut staff by 15% and carry out a corporate restructuring. That means about 400 people and 2600 employees will be laid off, including two top managers - Chief Operating Officer Gilles BianRosa and Chief Technology Officer Vishnu Patankar.

Arjun Sethi has already been appointed as the new CEO of the exchange. He will lead the platform together with Dave Ripley.

Dave Ripley became CEO in 2023 after company founder Jesse Powell resigned due to internal conflicts with employees.

Representatives Creak reported that the layoffs were forced, and despite this, the company needs to move forward to claim the status of the largest cryptocurrency trading platform in the global market.

В Creak noted that the management structure had become overly heavy and needed to be modernized as soon as possible to maintain flexibility in response to changing conditions.

It should be noted that last year the exchange already carried out a large-scale reorganization and transferred many employees to new departments, which caused their discontent. The new management should ensure the launch of its own blockchain in the first quarter of 2025, the company blog says.
