BBVA Asset Management launches ‘tokenized’ fund through CNMV sandbox
According to official sources, BBVA Asset Management (AM) has launched a pilot project aimed at applying blockchain technology to asset management, in line with its strategy of using innovation for the benefit of its clients. In order to succeed, the company has registered a short-term fixed income "tokenized" investment fund, BBVA Token Renta Fija Corto Plazo, in the regulatory sandbox of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). For fund shareholders, investing in this fund is the same as investing in traditional funds, except that subscription and redemption orders will be managed and recorded through blockchain technology without affecting the investor experience.
