The ZKBase mainnet is officially launched, bringing new scalability and efficiency to the Ethereum Virtual Machine
On July 1, 2024, ZKBase's mainnet officially went live, marking an important step in the era of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). As an ETH Layer-2 blockchain based on ZKEVM, ZKBase introduces a new level of scalability and efficiency to the blockchain ecosystem. Since its establishment during DeFi Summer in 2020, the ZKBase team has been dedicated to the Layer-2 expansion track. They have developed a powerful platform using ZK-Rollups technology that solves high gas costs and slow transaction times on the Ethereum mainnet.
The ZKBase mainnet utilizes a solution based on zero-knowledge proof algorithm called ZK-Rollups to enhance transaction processing and system performance. This technology reduces gas costs and improves security by continuously submitting transaction data for confirmation to Layer-1 mainnet. With the launch of its mainnet, ZKBase aims to support a wide range of Dapps including DEXs, lending platforms, NFTs and GameFi applications. The team is also committed to establishing a decentralized computing power market called "ZKMarket" that matches idle computing resources with demand.
