Surge in Ethereum Blob transactions creates massive backlog in mempool
According to The Block, there has been a surge in Blob transactions on Ethereum, exceeding the set capacity. The increase in Blob transactions is related to the introduction of Blob inscriptions.Analysis from Hildobby's maintained Dune Analytics dashboard shows a significant trend: now 40% of Blob transactions are related to inscriptions.According to EtherNow's data, this further highlights the large backlog in the memory pool, with 160 blobs waiting to be processed. Ethereum can only contain a maximum of 6 blobs per block, indicating that the backlog of data is 40 times higher than what can be accommodated in a single block.Earlier reports from The Block show that Dune Analytics' data reveals that Ethereum blobs are being used to create inscriptions at a record pace, much like Ordinals on Bitcoin.
