The US and UK now impose joint sanctions on crypto fundraiser Gaza Now, which is “aligned with Hamas”
The online media channel Gaza Now, which supports Hamas, has been subjected to joint sanctions by the United States and the United Kingdom for providing convenience for Hamas to publicly raise funds after the Israeli attack on October 7th. Blockchain analysis company Elliptic found that Gaza Now received $21,000 in cryptocurrency donations in the weeks following the attack. According to a new report by TRM Labs, cryptocurrency donations still account for only a small portion of the entire terrorist financing landscape, with most donations being under $500.
