Polygon Labs Paid $4M to Sponsor Starbucks Crypto Project, According to Reports
Polygon Labs reportedly paid $4 million to sponsor Starbucks's crypto project, Starbuck Odyssey, two years ago. The partnership aimed to build and host the coffee maker's loyalty program on Polygon's layer 2 scaling solution. The program blended Starbucks Rewards with NFTs to enhance customer engagement, with around 58,000 active users. Starbucks discontinued the program in March 2024 to focus on the Web3 economy, and Polygon's partnership with Starbucks was part of its growth strategy to secure high-profile collaborations with leading consumer brands worldwide.
