StarkWare Developing Faster Cryptographic Prover for Layer-2 Network Starknet
StarkWare, the company responsible for the development of layer-2 network Starknet, has revealed that it is creating a new cryptographic prover called Stwo. This prover is a crucial component for layer-2s as it generates proofs that are posted to the base layer blockchain, linking networks and sharing security. With a faster prover, transaction processing costs should be lower, which will reduce fees for users and speed up transactions. StarkWare has open-sourced its existing prover, Stone, and the new Stwo prover will eventually benefit all Starknet appchains currently using Stone.
