Grant Thornton Hong Kong Consulting Director: Virtual assets will remain an important part of alternative investments
Ms. Huang Meixian, the consulting director of Zhitong Hong Kong, said that although the regulation of cryptocurrency companies and virtual asset trading platforms still faces challenges, the necessity of diversified asset allocation is gradually highlighted under the trend of globalization. Therefore, we believe that virtual assets will still be an important component of alternative investments. It is recommended that Hong Kong keep pace with technological development and strengthen supervision of market participants such as virtual assets to safeguard the interests of investors. We expect that after the first batch of virtual asset trading platform licenses are issued in the second half of 2024, Hong Kong's virtual asset trading market will become more orderly.
