Ark Analyst: Bitcoin network performs 67 times more hashes per second than grains of sand on Earth
Yassine Elmandjra, an analyst at Ark Invest, stated on social media that the hash rate of Bitcoin hit a historical high of 500 exahashes/s this month. To highlight the enormity of this number:
- For every star in the Milky Way, the Bitcoin network calculates 5 billion times per second.
- If the global population were to perform one hash calculation per second, it would take 2000 years to reach the hash rate of the Bitcoin network.
- The number of hashes executed per second by the Bitcoin network is 67 times that of the sand grains on Earth.
- Based on the number of original calculations per second, Bitcoin's performance is 500 times that of the world's most powerful supercomputer.
However, there are still skeptics who believe that "Bitcoin has no support."
