Vitalik: Becoming Validium is the right choice for most blockchain apps. A good distributed DA guarantee system can improve its security.
On January 16th, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed agreement with Taiko CEO Daniel Wang's opinion that "using other data chains' Rollup can be considered as Ethereum's Validium" on his social platform. At the same time, Vitalik pointed out that the core of Rollup is unconditional security. If DA depends on systems outside of Ethereum, this cannot be achieved. However, becoming Validium is a more appropriate choice for many blockchain applications, and using well-distributed DAs to ensure that the system can improve the actual security of Validium is a good method. Validium is an Ethereum Layer 2 scalability solution, which can be understood as a ZKRollup that does not use ETH as the DA layer.
